Melissa Etheridge Boycotts CA State Taxes!

...and hopes other gay citizens in California, including many celebrities, do the same

Her reasoning: Since she doesn't (by law) deserve the same rights as other citizens, then she puts it to say that she is NOT a CA citizen, and therefore shouldn't have to pay her state taxes.

there are farts in church that will go over better than boycotting paying taxes- the Governator will not stand for that, and if he hears complaining about it, you KNOW what he'll say......

Honestly, if enough CA celebs join the boycott....what is CA going to do? Jail them? That would be the PR nightmare of the century.

the only reason they'd not be arrested, is due to their celebrity status- Joe Normal were to do that, they'd be in jail so fast.....

sadly, that's all too true...and while the stand is a great one to make, i think a more legal (and also, more epic) move would to be just move out of CA...

Can you imagine if EVERY gay couple or family moved out of a state? EPIC.

Alas, I know that wouldn't happen either...I wouldn't want that to happen. You shouldn't have to move based on this...

Regardless, this is a bold move, and as awesome as i think it is, I'm interested to see what DOES happen because of it.
